At Mauldeth Road Primary School, safeguarding is our top priority. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety, well-being and protection of all pupils in our care. Safeguarding encompasses a range of measures designed to protect children from harm, abuse, and neglect, while also promoting their welfare and development. Our commitment to safeguarding is reflected in our robust policies and procedures, which are designed to create a safe and supportive environment for every pupil. We believe that by working collaboratively with parents, staff and the wider community, we can foster a culture of vigilance and care, ensuring that every child feels safe, respected, and valued.

What the DSL Team Does

The DSL team is responsible for:

• Ensuring that safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed.

• Responding to concerns about a child's welfare or safety.

• Working with families to provide support and guidance.

• Referring concerns to Children's Services and other agencies when necessary.

• Providing safeguarding advice and training to staff.

• Maintaining secure safeguarding records.

• Promoting a culture where children feel safe, listened to and respected.

Early Help

We are committed to providing Early Help support for families where needed and Mrs Cain is trained to complete Early Help Assessments with families and fulfil the role of Lead Professional if needed. All Early Help information is confidential and will only be shared with people who you consent too. If you would like to discuss support in any area please don’t hesitate to speak to Mrs Cain.
