Equality Objectives (2026–2028)
To support our Public Sector Equality Duty, the school has adopted the following measurable equality objectives:
Objective 1: Promote Gender Equality
To promote sex equality through the use of inclusive and anti-stereotypical role models, learning materials and curriculum resources.
Success measures:
Curriculum resources are reviewed to ensure balanced representation.
Reading materials and texts challenge traditional gender stereotypes.
Subject leaders monitor planning and resources for inclusive representation.
Objective 2: Increase Pupils’ Understanding of Discrimination
To develop pupils’ understanding of inappropriate language, behaviour and actions towards others based on sex and other protected characteristics.
Success measures:
Equality themes are taught through PSHE and assemblies.
Pupils demonstrate greater understanding of stereotypes and their impact.
Staff consistently challenge discriminatory language and behaviour.
Objective 3: Strengthen Reporting and Response to Discriminatory Behaviour
To ensure pupils understand how to report discriminatory behaviour and feel confident that concerns will be taken seriously.
Success measures:
Pupils know how and when to report concerns.
Staff are trained to respond effectively and sensitively.
Any discriminatory incidents are recorded, monitored and addressed appropriately.
Accessibility and Inclusion
We are committed to making reasonable adjustments for pupils, staff and visitors with disabilities and work proactively to remove barriers to participation and achievement. Equality considerations are reflected throughout our policies, including our Accessibility Plan, SEND Policy, Behaviour Policy and Anti-Bullying Policy.
